Description
A photograph from within the Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park in Montrose, Colorado.This wildflower bears a strong resemblance to the common sunflower, but is distinguished by the habit of growing in higher altitudes. The scientific name, Helianthella means 'little Sunflower'. This plant is often found in damp Aspen Groves, moist Mountain meadows and Woods.
