Artist's Description
An amazing sight to behold traveling over Colorado's Million Dollar Highway, especially in the Autumn, Colorado , The San Juan Scenic Drive, is one of the top spots in America to view Autumn colors.
The byway eventually loops to the south and visits Dolores and Mesa Verde National Park, where the famed cliff dwellings of the Ancestral Puebloan people can be found. Many of the attractions on this section overlap with the Trail of the Ancients Scenic and Historic Byway.
Many parts of The Million Dollar Highway have drop-offs that lack guardrails.
Colorado is home to 25 Scenic and Historic Byways, 11 of which are also federally designated America's Byways.

About Janice Pariza
Janice Rae Pariza was born in Youngstown, Ohio in 1955 and raised in Ohio, Florida, New York, Pennsylvania, Nova Scotia and Connecticut. She has been painting since the age of eight. A self taught painter, she supplemented her natural abilities by studying privately for 14 years. A realist in the medium oil, her subject matter has varied throughout the years. She has expanded into the realm of the Abstract and Impressionism.
