Description
Yes, this is a stirrup, they used to let the ladies keep their shoes on...in the old West, circa 1864. This is a shot of the Dr's. exam table at The Museum of the Mountain west in Montrose, Colorado.
The MMW takes you back to the old west, circa 1840-1940. Guided tours allow you to enter historic buildings and sets and be "up close & personal" with rare and unusual artifacts displayed as they would have been at the time. In the main building store and office sets are completely furnished with historic artifacts and include: a saloon with unusual music machines, 2 doctor's offices, 2 dentist offices, grocery store, drug store, millinery, and dry goods store, plus other rare artifacts. On the grounds guests tour furnished historical buildings from western Colorado. A one-room school house, teacherage, 1913 church, 2 very early D&RG RR buildings, an 1880's Carriage Works (where Jack Dempsey trained), a general store, and a multitude of vintage cabins are displayed throughout the town of Adobe Flats on the 6 acre grounds.
