The Town of Mancos is a Statutory Town located in Montezuma County, Colorado, United States. The town population was 1,336 at the 2010 United States Census.
Mancos, where the west still lives. This is Louis L’Amour country, king of the Western novel, where you can head out with one of our local outfitters and ride the trails to see the backcountry that L’Amour wrote about. The L’Amour ranch is located in the Mancos Valley and many of his novels are set in the region. You can learn more about him by stopping by the Mancos Valley Visitor Center, where his books are on display and for sale.
